It is an article of faith among the Earth Charter group that the planet is overpopulated and is getting worse, and that serious efforts to limit our numbers are in order.

Universal Responsibility To realize these aspirations, we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities.
